The fight to keep Mount Vernon's only hospital open continued Monday evening with another town hall.
Montefiore Mount Vernon has called the area home for over a century, but it is set to be replaced with a $41 million medical center and ER that will not include inpatient care.
Those who require inpatient care or a hospital stay would be transferred to one of the four hospitals within 4 miles.
Monday's meeting was the second town hall on the matter, and some residents wouldn't let the hospital go down without a fight.
"Making an executive decision without thinking of the community is somewhat unfortunate, and so I'm here on behalf of the committee hoping there will be a change of heart," said registered nurse Brenessa David.
